US President Donald Trump has endorsed Republican Vivek Ramaswamy for governor of Ohio. Ramaswamy battled Trump for the presidential nomination last year before losing to Trump in the Iowa caucuses. He then endorsed Trump’s candidacy for the presidency.
Donald Trump also appointed Vivek Ramaswamy to head the “Department of Government Effectiveness” (DOGE) along with Tesla CEO Elon Musk. However, he left the department in January of this year after announcing that he had “future plans” in Ohio.
In a post endorsing Ramaswamy, Trump said, “Vivek Ramaswamy is running for governor of the great state of Ohio, a place I love and won three times in 2016, 2020, and 2024! I know Vivek well, I’ve run against him, and he’s something SPECIAL. He’s young, strong, and smart! Vivek is also a very good man who truly loves our country.”
He went on to say, “As your next governor, Vivek will fight tirelessly to grow the economy, reduce taxes and regulations, promote what’s made in the USA, defend American energy dominance, maintain our now very secure border, security, stop migrant crime, strengthen our military/veterans, ensure law and order, improve election integrity, and protect our Second Amendment, which is always under siege. Vivek Ramaswamy will excellent governor of Ohio and has my full and complete approval – he will never let you down!”
