Josh Giddy didn’t put a foot wrong to start the 2025-26 NBA season and is in the All-Star conversation. However, he showed on Saturday that even the best can be vulnerable to embarrassing moments.
During the third quarter of the Bulls’ matchup with the Cavaliers, Giddy broke the ankles with a silky smooth crossover from $23.3 million forward De’Andre Hunter.
Giddy tried to guard him on the perimeter when Hunter surprised him with a stunner, flying past him to his right, presumably out of his reach, for a two-handed jam. Here’s the clip:

Things almost went from bad to worse for Giddy, who not only had a low-light slog to himself, but almost left the game with an injury. The Bulls guard headed to the locker room to get checked out, but thankfully returned.
Here’s how fans on X reacted to the incident:
Josh Giddy continued his scary streak with the worst offense in the Bulls’ loss
It wasn’t Josh Giddy’s Saturday night, when the Bulls guard had his worst offense of the season after suffering a broken ankle. Giddy had 15 points, nine rebounds, six assists, two steals and two turnovers, but shot a season-low 27.8% (5-of-18).
He was a plus-minus -12 as the Bulls lost 128-122 despite leading by 19 points in the first half, falling to 6-3. It was their third defeat in four matches after a hot 5-0 start. The Bulls just didn’t get enough out of their starters, especially in the second half, as no player scored at least 20 points.
Second-year forward Matas Bouzelis played just 17 minutes after posting four points, four rebounds, three turnovers and four fouls on 1-of-6 shooting. Nikola Vucevic scored nine points and five rebounds on 4-of-11 shooting. Chicago shot a respectable 45.2%, thanks to its 58-point bench.
The Bulls will be hoping for a quick turnaround on Monday against San Antonio, but it will be a tall order. De’Aaron Fox returned from injury layoff to reunite with the in-form Victor Uembanyama.
The Bulls have plenty of talent on the perimeter, but could struggle with Wembanyama up front.
