Nellore: Nellore Rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy urged the district authorities to speed up the construction of railway underpasses at Kondaya Palem and Bhaktavatsala Nagar and a flyover near Medicover Hospital at Chintareddypalem Junction in Nellore.
In a submission to the district in-charge minister NMD Farooq on Saturday, the MLA said that two underpass projects have already been sanctioned and are in the process of land acquisition. He emphasized their relevance given the high intensity of daily car and pedestrian traffic on these routes.
Kottamreddy said the completion of the underpass construction will help prevent accidents at level crossings and improve public safety. He called for close coordination between the district administration and the railways to speed up the work.
He added that proposals for the construction of a flyover near Medicover Hospital have already been received. The MLA also appreciated the efforts of Municipal Administration Minister Ponguru Narayana and MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy for their interest in fast-tracking these key projects.
Kottamreddy urged the district in-charge minister to personally monitor the progress and ensure early completion of the much-awaited projects, fulfilling the long-standing demands of the people of Nellore.
