The Supreme Court on Friday (November 7, 2025) directed the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to disclose its policy for publishing answer keys for NEET-PG exams.
A bench of Justices PS Narasimha and Vipul Pancholi asked the counsel for the NBE to file an affidavit and clear its stand.
The apex court heard a number of petitions raising various issues related to the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) and Post-Graduate (PG) examinations, including the disclosure of answer keys for the purpose of transparency.

During the hearing, counsel for the NBE said that these petitions are pushing the coaching institutes as they want to get the answer keys for the question booklets. The lawyer argued that this would worsen the quality of the examination.
On September 26, the judicial panel consisting of judges J. B. Pardiwali and KV Viswanathan sent notices to the Center and the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences on petitions demanding publication of NEET-PG 2025 answer keys.

It considered petitions to bring more transparency in NEET-PG including publication of answer keys.
On April 29, the Supreme Court ordered the release of raw marks, answer keys and normalization formula for transparency. Previously, candidates did not have access to answer keys or raw score details, raising concerns about the fairness of the normalization process.
