After 0 dismissals in internationals, Dinesh Karthik is all smiles after taking a wicket in Hong Kong Sixers 2025 [Watch]

Former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik was all smiles after raising his hand to take a wicket in the Hong Kong Sixers 2025 clash against Kuwait on Saturday, November 8. Despite being one of the most versatile batsmen during his international career, the now 40-year-old has never taken a wicket in his 180 matches for Team India.

In his entire international career, Karthik has bowled only once in a T20I, conceding 18 runs. However, he bowled the penultimate over of the Kuwaiti innings and was instantly rewarded with the second delivery of the over.

Karthik played a perfect delivery at medium pace which resulted in the batsman, Mohammed Shafiq, flicking one to Robin Uthappa with his gloves.

Here is a video of the same:

While bowling has never been Karthik’s thing in international cricket, the former teacher has bowled a lot at the domestic level. He bowled an incredible 20 overs in first-class cricket and three more in T20s, with a single wicket to show in the latter.

Unfortunately for Karthik, despite taking a wicket in the Kuwait clash of the Hong Kong Sixers, he made 23 runs in his only over.
