Destination DC has relaunched its Agent Academy in Washington DC, which aims to educate travel professionals and enhance the city’s appeal among Indian outbound travellers. The initiative comes with an additional incentive this year – Indian agents who complete the training program by July 31, 2025 will be eligible to win Amazon gift vouchers worth INR 3,000.
The Private Agent Academy is an online self-certification platform that trains agents to effectively market Washington, DC as a prime US destination. The Academy is organized into three distinct modules or “core missions,” providing participants with essential knowledge of the destination, including key landmarks and unique cultural offerings.
The first module, titled “Mission Information,” covers vital facts and the logistics of traveling to Washington, D.C. “Mission 3M’s” delves into the city’s famous monuments, memorials and museums, while “Mission There’s Only 1 DC” explores its distinct identity compared to other American cities.
“By relaunching the Special Agent Academy, we are equipping Indian travel advisors with the tools to better understand and promote Washington, D.C.,” a Destination DC spokesperson said. “The added incentive is our way of recognizing their efforts in becoming destination professionals.”
Upon successful completion of all three tasks, participants earn the title of “Dashington, DC Special Agent” and gain access to ongoing updates, offers, and agent-ready information curated by Destination DC. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen engagement with the Indian travel trade community, which continues to be a growing source market for the US capital.
Interested professionals can register at washington.org/traveltrade/special-agent-academy and complete training within the incentive window. Destination DC expects the updated program to build stronger relationships with Indian agents and encourage deeper exposure to the destination ahead of the next peak travel season.
