The United Arab Emirates has reportedly temporarily suspended the issuance of tourist and work visas to citizens of nine countries spanning Africa and Asia. The 2026 UAE visa ban reflects growing concerns about security, health and immigration management. However, there has been no official confirmation from the UAE government or the official immigration office.

Which countries are reported to be part of the ban list?

• Afghanistan
• Libya
• Yemen
• Somalia
• Lebanon
• Bangladesh
• Cameroon
• Sudan
• Uganda

According to reports, as of 2026, citizens of nine countries are banned from applying for tourist visas and work permits in the UAE. The restriction will remain in effect until further notice, with no timeline for review or rollback announced. However, reports highlighted that this is a visa ban, not a travel ban. Citizens of the listed countries who already hold valid UAE visas are not affected and can continue to live and work in the country legally.
