The move follows Anthropic’s large-scale global expansion to triple its international workforce to meet growing demand for Claude AI’s large language models outside of the United States.
San Francisco-based Anthropic, which was last valued at $183 billion and is backed by Google parent Alphabet and Amazon.com, was founded in 2021 by a group of former OpenAI employees.
It has offices in London, Dublin and Zurich in Europe, and has tripled its headcount in the region in the past year.
“EMEA has become our fastest growing region, with total revenue growing more than 9x over the past year,” the company said in a statement.
Anthropic, whose European clients include L’Oreal, BMW, SAP, Lovable and N26, said its European workforce will cover all aspects of its business, from research and development to sales and operations.
