Nepal received over 1.28 lakh international air tourists in October this year, an increase of 3.3 per cent over the same period last year, with Indian visitors topping the list, according to data released by the Tourism Board on Sunday.
The Himalayan nation welcomed 128,443 international visitors last month, a rise from the 124,391 visitors it received in the same period last year, according to data released by the Nepal Tourism Board. India continued to lead as a source of tourists visiting Nepal in October this year, with 17,298 people arriving from the southern neighbour.
This was followed by arrivals from the United States with 13,286 visitors by air, the United Kingdom with 8,718 visitors, China with 6,755 visitors, and Germany with 6,366 visitors.
The number of Indian tourists visiting Nepal grew by 6 percent compared to last October.
From January to October this year, 943,716 tourists arrived in Nepal by air, a 0.3 percent increase in tourist arrivals compared to the same period last year. India also topped the list as a source country for foreign visitors in the January-October 2025 period, with 2,43,350 people arriving there in the last 10 months.
However, Indian arrivals fell by 11 per cent from the same period a year earlier, with 2,73,317 Indians arriving in the country from January to October 2024.
