His Excellency Ali Murat Ersoy, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to India.The Republic of Turkey celebrated its 102nd National Day with a grand reception hosted by the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to India, His Excellency Ali Murat Ersoy, and Fazila Ersoy, at their residence in New Delhi on 29 October 2025. The event commemorated the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey, celebrating the nation’s enduring spirit, remarkable progress and rich cultural heritage.
The reception brought together around 500 distinguished guests, including more than 50 heads and members of diplomatic missions, as well as representatives of India’s business, culture and media communities, former bureaucrats, and members of the Turkish diaspora. His Excellency Ali Murat Ersoy and Fazila Ersoy warmly welcomed each guest, reflecting the deep friendly relations between Türkiye and India.
The formal proceedings began with the national anthems of India and Turkey, followed by the reading of a message from the President of the Republic of Turkey. In his speech, Ambassador Ersoy emphasized the growing cooperation between the two countries and the opportunities that lie ahead.
His Excellency Ali Murat Ersoy said: “The potential of the relationship far exceeds the current level of engagement. We must and will continue to work on this. Moreover, as key players in our two regions, we can work together to promote connectivity, stability and peace. By aligning our efforts on global issues, we can amplify our voices and contribute to a safer and more sustainable world.”
Highlights of the evening included a raffle of airline tickets and travel packages sponsored by Turkish Airlines, IndiGo and several travel companies, adding an element of excitement to the celebrations. Guests enjoyed a rich cultural experience with performances of traditional Turkish classical and folk music, complemented by an elaborate array of authentic Turkish cuisine.
The culinary lineup included distinctive dishes such as kebab, doner, Turkish mezze prepared with fine olive oil, baklava, and Turkish ice cream, all coordinated under the supervision of Turkish culinary experts. The menu reflects the depth and diversity of Turkey’s world-famous gastronomic traditions.
The 102nd National Day celebration was a reflection of Turkey’s journey over more than a century – honoring its heritage, achievements and continuous progress – while reaffirming the shared values and enduring friendship between Turkey and India.
