Atlantis Dubai Aquarium launches The Lost World of a revolutionary marine experience, ETTravelWorld

Atlantis Dubai has unveiled the Lost World Aquarium, a modified and expanded version of its iconic marine attraction at Atlantis, The Palm. The reopening coincides with the hotel’s 17th anniversary and represents a major leap in combining technology, education and entertainment to create a deeper connection between visitors and marine life.

The revamped experience blends 14 themed rooms with immersive audio-visual design, powered by 1,900 LED panels, 55 projectors and 140 synchronized speakers. Guests begin their journey at a cave-like entrance, where an LED wall presents the mythical world of Atlantis. Inside Medusa Cave, motion sensors and responsive lighting bring the underwater narrative to life, enhancing the sense of discovery and interaction.

At the heart of the experience is the Lost Room, a newly designed observation space overlooking the Ambassador Lagoon – a marine environment 10 meters deep containing 11 million liters of water. Several times a day the room transforms into an immersive theater with projection displays celebrating the biodiversity within. The space also serves as the stage for the return of Trident, a live mermaid show that combines choreography, music and lighting effects to retell the legendary underwater saga of Poseidon.

Guests can further personalize their visit with The Trident, an interactive digital device that activates hidden effects across the attraction – from fog and light transitions to black light icons and interactive soundscapes. Each activation deepens engagement while enhancing environmental storytelling.

Educational features are woven throughout the aquarium, including digital information panels and guided tours led by marine experts. Visitors can observe behind-the-scenes operations and learn about conservation practices, animal care and the role of the Atlantis Project, the resort’s sustainability initiative. A portion of every cruise ticket supports environmental education and conservation projects globally.

Home to over 285 species and 65,000 marine animals, The Lost World Aquarium is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA), ensuring adherence to international standards in animal care and ecosystem conservation.

The attraction is part of Aquaventure World, which also includes the world’s largest water park according to Guinness World Records™, along with Dolphin Bay, Sea Lion Point and Shark Lagoon. Entry to The Lost World Aquarium and Aquaventure Water Park is free for guests staying at Atlantis The Palm and Atlantis The Royal, while day visitors can purchase separate tickets with prices starting from AED 85 for children and AED 105 for adults. Combined ticket prices start from AED 330 for children and AED 380 for adults.
