For years, I reported on defense and foreign affairs issues before moving to a better-paying but mind-numbing career, writing press releases and ghostcasting as a journalist. But not all writing is created equal. I quickly realized that I needed to get into the travel writing genre.

The problem was that I had suppressed my writing voice for all those years and now I needed to find it.
