Alternatively, you can reach the castle and organize a tour there.
…and the most popular of all the options are in-person guided tours.

The guides are friendly and knowledgeable, and give you plenty of time to ask questions. Tours take about 45 minutes and do not need to be booked in advance.
Tours take place every 30 minutes, every day, between 10am and 3pm. Go to the meeting point at Fort Major’s House, and find a guide.
→ Self-guided audio tours
If you don’t want to be social, you can put a guide in your ears instead.
It’s less than the price of coffee, and is available in English, Gaelic, French, German and Spanish.

These tours are not straightforward, but they are really detailed.
