VFS Global, the largest outsourcing and technology services company for governments and diplomatic missions, has announced the launch of its long-term Bulgarian visa (D visa) services in India in partnership with the Embassy of Bulgaria in New Delhi. This initiative offers advanced visa application centers in six major Indian cities – New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai – making it significantly easier for applicants to access long-term visa services in Bulgaria without traveling to the embassy in New Delhi.
The agreement formalizing this partnership was signed on October 24, 2025, between His Excellency Dr. Nikolai Yankov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to India, and Yumi Talwar, Chief Operating Officer – South Asia, VFS Global, at the Embassy of Bulgaria in New Delhi.
From 1 November 2025, long-term visa applicants can submit their applications at the Bulgaria Visa Application Center in New Delhi, while appointment slots for other cities will be available from mid-November. Speaking about the launch, His Excellency Dr. Nikolai Yankov, Ambassador of Bulgaria to India, said: “The launch of long-term Bulgarian visa services across India represents an important step in strengthening people-to-people ties and business ties between our two countries. This initiative will make the application process simpler and easier for Indian nationals planning to travel to Bulgaria for study, work or family reasons, further deepening the ties between our countries. With VFS Global already managing short-term visa (C visa) services for Bulgaria, this expansion ensures applicants can Now easily access a full range of visa categories through a trusted partner, without having to travel to New Delhi Yumi Talwar, Chief Operating Officer – South Asia, VFS Global added, “Our long-standing partnership with the Government of Bulgaria since 2008 has been built on trust and service excellence. We are honored to strengthen this partnership further by expanding our support for long-term visa services in India. The introduction of these services across our centers will enhance convenience for applicants, who can now complete the process closer to home. VFS Global will offer additional services to enhance the application experience, including Visa At Your Doorstep, Premium Lounge, Prime Time collection and application, courier, SMS updates, and form filling assistance. However, these optional services have no impact on your visa processing time or outcome.
VFS Global has been a trusted partner of the Government of Bulgaria since 2008, providing visa services in 31 countries through 116 dedicated visa application centres. Its role remains limited to administrative support – collecting applications, required documents and biometrics – with visa decisions being made solely by the Bulgarian Embassy under the Schengen coordination protocols.
