From here, Buffalo Bill became the most popular showman around the world and in 1882, the Buffalo Bill Wild West Show was born which ran for nearly 30 years until 1913. Shows were held throughout the United States, Europe and other locations shaping how the American Wild West was perceived in the minds of people everywhere. Buffalo Bill was also an activist for the rights of women and minorities, especially Native Americans.

In addition to exploring the museum itself, you can visit the grave of Buffalo Bill, whose dying wish was to be buried on Lookout Mountain, and enjoy the expansive views from the observation deck.
