SUNDAY Hotel, the premium hotel brand of PRISM – the parent company of OYO – has announced its foray into the world of wildlife tourism with the launch of its first hotel, SUNDAY Hotel & Resort at Kiyari Kham near Jim Corbett National Park. The brand also revealed plans to open 10 wildlife properties in India’s leading national parks and reserves in the next six months.

Located about 10 kilometers from Amdanda Gate in Jim Corbett National Park, the new resort offers guests luxurious accommodation amidst dense forests and meandering streams. The property has more than 50 rooms in categories such as premium, loft and family rooms, as well as suites, many of which are equipped with private balconies overlooking the forest. Each room offers modern amenities including air conditioning, high-definition LED TVs, WiFi, tea and coffee stations and tastefully designed lounge areas.

Resort facilities include an outdoor pool, multi-cuisine restaurant, bar and bonfire areas, as well as multi-purpose business halls and event lawns suitable for weddings and group events. Guests can also participate in nature-based activities such as guided safaris, bird watching, riverside walks, yoga and spa sessions, and stargazing – all curated by trained experts for safe and authentic experiences.

Aditya Sharma, Business Head, SUNDAY said, “We plan to add nine more properties over the next six months focusing on some of the most popular wildlife destinations like Ranthambore, Bandhavgarh and Kanha in the northern and central regions, and Periyar, Nagarhole and Wayanad in the south, creating a true footprint across India. The SUNDAY Wildlife Collection will celebrate the spirit of wildlife while empowering local communities through employment and artisan partnerships, sustainable and eco-friendly practices.”

According to industry estimates, India’s national parks and reserves attract more than 6.5 million domestic and international tourists annually, with the forest tourism sector growing at over 15 percent year-on-year. Rising disposable income, growing interest in nature-led travel, and the popularity of eco-friendly vacations and weddings continue to drive this growth.

Launched in May 2023 through a joint venture between SoftBank Group and Oravel Stays, SUNDAY Hotel has positioned itself as a four- and five-star premium brand. Its entry into wildlife tourism represents a strategic step in expanding its portfolio beyond urban and leisure destinations to include immersive nature experiences.
