Hit the best sights (yes, they’re worth it)

Let’s be honest. When you land in Dubai, you enter an impeccable city. That’s half the fun.

The best things to do in Dubai
  • Burj Khalifa – The tallest skyscraper in the world. It’s iconic, and yes, it’s worth standing at the base and craning your neck toward the sky. If you want the view, try to book your visit early in the day or at sunset for the best experience.
  • Dubai Fountain Exhibition – Located directly below Burj Khalifa, this water and light show is one of the best free things to do in the city. More free things to do in Dubai tips here.
  • Dubai Miracle Garden – More than 50 million blooming flowers arranged in bizarre shapes, like giant teddy bears made of petals. Perfect with kids, or just if you want an extra dose of colour.
  • Dubai Eye – The largest observation wheel in the world. Go in the evening to enjoy the sparkling skyline views.

Add a little quirk (unusual stuff)

Dubai is great at taking things to the extreme (in the best way).

  • Ski Dubai – A huge indoor ski hill inside the Mall of the Emirates. Where else can you ski, skate or hang out with penguins in the middle of the desert?
  • Relaxation lounge – A café built from ice right down to the chairs. They hand you a jacket and serve soup, sandwiches and hot cocktails. It’s corny and fun, especially if it’s +42°C outside.
  • Global village – A seasonal multicultural theme park offering cuisine, shows and shopping from over 90 countries. Think Epcot, but with more shawarma.
