Was it worth the price?

This is not your average hotel stay. It’s a destination in itself, at least for us, who aren’t the Kardashians or Zuckerbergs of the world.

Whether it is worth the expense depends on you alone. I saw pictures of it years ago and knew I wanted to take pictures here one day. Having worked in the travel industry for over 10 years, staying here was an aspiration.

While chatting with some friends, the consensus was that beyond a certain price point, the return on tangible services or upgrades diminishes a lot. After that, you pay for more privacy and exclusivity. However, staying here felt like living in a James Turrell art installation.

Your room rate includes almost everything except alcohol, spa treatments and private excursions. Includes all your meals for two guests, in-room refreshments with snacks, guided group hikes, group fitness classes, use of the fitness center and aqua pavilion, internet, self-guided hikes, and personalized trip planning services.

Amangiri was an absolute dream for me.

For Jacob? He wouldn’t have paid for it if it was just him, but he told me it was worth it to see me happy.

Would we stay here again?

There are plenty of other places we’d like to see and stay before considering a return visit. But that’s with most places.
