Pahang Tourism Board is strengthening its involvement in the Indian travel trade through the Pahang to India 2025 roadshow, held on September 24 in New Delhi and September 26 in Chennai. The B2B initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation between Pahang, the largest state in Peninsular Malaysia, and India, one of Malaysia’s fastest growing domestic tourism markets.

The roadshow, organized by Tourism Pahang, features networking sessions, destination presentations and product demos designed to connect Pahang’s hospitality and tourism operators with leading Indian travel agents, tour operators, airlines, media and industry associations.

India remains among Malaysia’s largest tourism source markets, contributing more than one million arrivals annually. Factors such as visa-free entry, direct air links, and cultural proximity make Malaysia an attractive option for Indian travellers. Pahang, home to destinations including Genting Highlands, Cameron Highlands, Tioman Island, Cherating and Taman Negara Rainforest, positions itself as a versatile choice for leisure travellers, families, honeymooners and MICE groups.

“This roadshow is more than just a promotional exercise – it is a platform to build lasting partnerships with India’s vibrant travel community,” said YP Puan Leong Yeo Man, Chairman of the Pahang State Unity, Tourism and Culture Committee. “We are excited to introduce Pahang’s hidden treasures and iconic destinations to Indian travelers and tourism stakeholders.”

This initiative is led by a high-level delegation, including YP Puan Leong Yeo Man, Chairman of the Pahang State Unity, Tourism and Culture Committee; Y.P. Arumugam A. Veerappa Pillai, Member of the Pahang State Legislative Assembly; Kamaruddin Bin Ibrahim, General Manager of Pahang Tourism; and Ms. Nalini Letchumanon, Senior Director of Promotion and Event Management at Pahang Tourism. Hoteliers, resort operators, destination management companies and other tourism companies from Pahang will join the delegation.

Pahang 2025 highlights opportunities in meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions, luxury weddings, eco-tourism, rail tourism, heritage experiences and slow travel. Customized tour packages, co-marketing initiatives and B2B collaborations will be on offer for Indian travel partners seeking to diversify their offerings in Malaysia. Each city’s program also includes a press conference and networking lunch to enhance engagement with the media and Indian associations.

By expanding its presence in India, Pahang aims to strengthen tourism ties and attract a wider range of Indian travellers, contributing to the continued growth of the inbound market to Malaysia.
