Parking is free and has quite a few spaces, but it can get crowded during high season, so try to arrive early or late in the afternoon.

There is also a bus stop at Lago d’Antorno, which is connected to Misurina Genzianella by 050 shuttle bus. It’s not worth doing if you plan to complete the round-trip hike, but it reduces the circuit walking distance by about 20 minutes.

Hiking instructions
Lago d’Antorno to Rifugio Fratelli Fonda Seaview (1 hour 20 minutes)
Follow from Rifugio Fonda Savio car park (1805 metres). Route 115 heads east On a wide gravel path through the trees. (If you park at Lago d’Antorno, use the purple path on the map above.)
In a gravel parking lot, the path heads right and then left through an opening between the trees.
Continue following Route 115. As it starts to climb steeper, the path splits.
You can take either route, but the left fork is a little easier. When the trails meet again, they turn south, and the trees begin to thin out. After a couple of winding steps, the path turns east again and crosses a low col.

You suddenly find yourself in… Ciadine de Tuccia gravel-filled basin, surrounded by an amphitheater of towering peaks.
On your left is Torre Wundt, and on your right is Torre del Diavolo overlooking the hills ahead. Rifugio Fratelli Fonda Savio (2367 AD).
The path curves around the left side of the basin. there Rough section up to loose gravel The slope has a couple of zigzags, but nothing too difficult.
Finally, the path passes under towering peaks and ascends a short rocky gully to the Rifugio area.
We seemed to have a lot of energy on this hike and were up in just over an hour. The Rifugio is wonderfully remote, and we both had an excellent bowl of spaghetti bolognese.

RIFUGIO FRATELLI FONDA SAVIO TO LAGO D’ANTORNO
As mentioned above, there is Two options To go back, but we didn’t have the chance to do the loop route due to the weather.
To return the way you came, simply retrace your steps back down Track 115 To the car park or bus station near Lago d’Antorno (1 hour). Just make sure you take in the view from Paso di tocci (behind Rifugio) before setting off.
Circular return instructions
To complete Circle heightHe follows Track 117 And then Track 119 Return to the lake (1 hour 40 minutes).
This is a more challenging route.
Track 117 It descends in a northeasterly direction from the Passo dei Tocci. From all reports, the decline is steep With the help of steps cut into the rock and a section equipped with cables.
The path is narrow but not particularly exposed, and the cable adds extra reassurance. According to our research, the difficult section will be finished in about ten minutes.
The path now crosses a rocky valley and becomes easier as views across Tre Cime open up before you.
After a short and easy ascent, the trail reaches Forcella di Rinbianco (2,207).
When passing by, Continue left on Route 119And it gradually descends towards the northwest. At the crossroads, just as the trail enters the trees, take the left fork and return to Lago d’Antorno (1886 AD).

Rifugio Fratelli Fonda Savio
The magnificent Rifugio Fratelli Fonda Savio is located above the Ciadin dei Tocci basin and just below the Torre Wundt peak.
On a beautiful day, the outdoor terrace is filled with climbers taking a break from trying to reach the peaks surrounding the hut.
On a cloudy day, the place is gloomy and moody, drifting in and out of fog.
The hut has a small homely menu of local food and very friendly service.
Even if you don’t complete the loop trip (which we didn’t), check it out Climb a few meters behind the hutto the top of Passo dei Tocci, and enjoy the magnificent views of the rest of the Cadini di Misurina peaks.
Best time for hiking
The best time to hike to Rifugio Fonda Savio is from Early July to late September. The snow was supposed to have melted from the higher ground, and the weather was at its warmest.
We hiked in mid-August, and despite it being peak season, we only encountered two other people on the hike. However, there were many people in the hut.
Since it’s less than 3 hours long, it’s a great half-day trip that you can do in the morning or afternoon.

What to take on a hike
Hiking shoes: The full circuit is reasonably long and the paths are uneven in many places, so we suggest wearing appropriate hiking shoes (we use something Similar to this).
Hiking poles: We recently switched to hiking poles. This isn’t a particularly long trip, but it still helps. We use trusty Leki sticks.
Waterproof material: Weather conditions while walking can change dramatically (as we discovered), and rain is common in the afternoon. Make sure you take Waterproof like this one.
Sun block/hat: Since most of the walking is in the shade, bring sunscreen and a hat on hot days.
snacks: Rifugio serves great food, so there’s no need to bring lunch, but you may want to grab some snacks.
water: Make sure you have plenty of water. We used one of these Hydration packsWhich makes it much easier to stay hydrated on the road.
maps: The main road is well marked, but it is also a good idea to have an online map with you.
Drones: Drones are allowed on this trip, although we didn’t actually use ours due to bad weather.
