As the world continues to be impacted by the pandemic, the travel industry recognizes NDC as a key element in reshaping travel and keeping up with the demands and changing preferences of today’s digital consumers. Amadeus strengthens MDM content capabilities in Asia Pacific across various partnerships and travel vendors in Asia Pacific. This will enable the delivery of richer, more relevant and relevant content through end-to-end integration for a simpler, more seamless customer experience.
Amadeus is committed to the industrialization of MDM worldwide. In APAC, Amadeus is developing an important path with airline partners such as Singapore Airlines along with travel sellers with the Amadeus Travel Platform. Travel agents connected to the Amadeus travel platform can bid for all Singapore Airlines provided by all Singapore Airlines through MDM as part of the Airline ‘Krisonnect’ programme. Meanwhile, this time around, it recently emerged with Amadeus, which will deliver content sourced from Qantas’ MDC to pilot travel vendors to book and serve with its Amadeus travel platform.
Partners also extend to travel vendors in the region. Most recently, one of Amadeus’ long-term partners, Riya travel and India’s largest retail agencies, implemented MDM to enhance their retail capabilities. In Indonesia, Tiket.com, one of the fastest growing online travel agencies in the country, becomes the first online travel agency in Southeast Asia to accept NDC. Amadeus has also emerged with the largest online travel agency in Taiwan to adopt Amadeus’ MDC enabled travel API, where Eztravel can access MDM and non-MDC and non-MDM content together.
Frederic Saurier, Asia Pacific, Amadeus Pacific Vice President, NDC, continues to be in the arrays with regional and travel vendors, something we are very excited about is the growth and speed of MDM’s digital transformation in Asia Pacific. Our partners’ trust and commitment is a promise to promise promise to deliver retail opportunities and truly differentiated content to give travelers the best experiences. “
“As the travel industry recovers, we believe our technological innovations like MDM will be key to recovery. It’s not an experience our digital-first travelers are seeing in many other parts of the world this year,” adds Saunier.
Amadeus has a long-standing partnership at NDC with airlines, travel agencies and corporations around the world. Earlier this year, American Airlines and Amadeus renewed their content distribution agreement. MDC-enabled content from American Airlines, Air France and KLM is already live on the Amadeus Travel platform and will be available worldwide by the end of the year. Meanwhile, International Airlines Group (IAG) and Amadeus are also partnering to roll out the airline group’s MDC offering. Content from British Airways and Iberia will be available to travel agents via the Amadeus travel platform in Q4 this year.
