Zoomcar Holdings, India’s leading car-sharing marketplace, reports how a peer-to-peer community is moving from an experience adoption to a sustainable revenue stream in 2024, gathering 113 active car owners in India.
According to the report, a typical presenter earns between INR 25,000 and INR 30,000 to 30,000 every month, enough to afford an average EMI of INR 18,000 on popular car models. A new owner generally secures their first order of empty vehicles within three to four days, which is an immediate source of income. Multi-car hosting is on the rise, with 12 percent of hosts now running more than one vehicle, as is the trust.
The platform saw a 61 percent increase in new host registrations. In 2025, 3,755 new vehicles were added, accounting for 21 percent of these listings and originating from Tier-2 and 3 cities. This trend reflects the exclusion of micro-entrepreneurship from metro areas as home ownership emerges as a viable side business.
The central location of the trust model facilitates nearly 60 reservations with 92 percent of occupants, positive guest behavior, and an average guest rating of 4.5 out of 5 in 2024.
“Car hosting is building a real economic opportunity, fast,” Abhilash Kasliwal, business head – Zoomcar. “With first order, transparent trust systems and quick distribution of meaningful monthly earnings, we are expanding access to scale and mobility and opportunity to thousands of Indians eMis and micro-entrepreneurs.”
Zoomcar also emphasizes the sustainability of car sharing, noting that private vehicles remain unused 90 percent of the time. By utilizing this spare capacity, the platform reduces the need for new vehicle ownership while bringing home revenues. Peer-to-peer, the company continues to invest in a hosted ecosystem with security, convenience and transparency at its core.
