The Taiwan Tourism Authority (TTA), Taiwan’s official tourism authority, has reaffirmed its commitment to the Indian market with the renewal of its representative office designation. Following the government’s procurement procedures, TTA has been mandated to continue serving as its exclusive partner in India for the second year running.
As it enters the Indian market in January 2024, TTA has positioned Taiwan as one of the fastest growing destinations from India. In 2024, the island nation welcomed 38,158 Indian visitors, reflecting an increase of 20.81% over the previous year. In 2025, the positive trajectory reached 22,687 Indians, representing an increase of 22.01% from January to June.
Paul Shih, director of Taiwan’s Singapore office, highlighted Taiwan’s progress in India. It was well rewarded by Indian travelers. If we register a growth of 2.5 times more than the total growth of around 8.44%, where the Indian overseas travel continues about the Indian market for Taiwan 2024. These include media outreach, engaging in the travel trade, and campaigns to strengthen Taiwan’s visibility and positioning.
He commented on the partnership: “The continuation of our strategic partnership will continue to inform the Indian market and TTA India’s unique belief that some of our leading capabilities in India, our unique destinations in India and Taiwan, unmatched value and Taiwan’s efforts to create extraordinary vacation experiences.”
Aligned with the global campaign “Taiwan – Waves of Wonder” TTA is set to expand and broadcast its product offerings in India this year. While working broadly to create long-term value from Taiwan’s diverse strengths, adventure, adventure, golf and LGBTQ + inclusive travel experiences.
