Lot Polish Airlines, a member of Star Alliance, is strengthening its presence in Central Asia with the launch of direct flights from Warsaw to Almaty, Kazakhstan. During the winter schedule, flights will operate three times a week.
Following Astana, Almaty is Lut’s second in Kazakhstan, underscoring the airline’s long-term expansion strategy in the region. A 6.5-hour service will arrive at Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) at 08:00 on the day of arrival to Almaty at 22:40 on the day of arrival. The return flight will depart Almaty at 09:20, providing convenient connections for passengers traveling between Europe and Asia.
“With the new air service and attractive feeder flights, we are putting a further emphasis on Central Asia,” said Robert Ludera, Registered Representative and Head of Network Planning at Lot Polish Airlines. “Almaty is an important economic center in Kazakhstan, but it is also very interesting from a tourism perspective and at the same time as a gateway to the Silk Road.”
Located in the foothills of the Transili Alatau Mountains, Almaty is the largest city in Kazakhstan with a population of approximately two million. Famous for its cultural interpretation and scenic views, the city’s historic Green Market and newly opened Art Museum showcase contemporary works. The nearby Shymbulak resort at 2,200 meters is known as one of Central Asia’s Top Western Sports Destinations. Other natural highlights include the large Almaty lake, Sharyn Gorge and Kolsai National Park.
With the addition of Almaty, Lot Polish Airlines continues to strengthen its network by providing enhanced travel options for Eurasian and Lyceum Passengers, while supporting the growing trade and tourism links between Europe and Central Asia.
