Freeborn appoints Saska Gerasimova as Group CEO; Eric Erbacher, Ettravelworld, moves to chairman of the board

Leading Global Air Charter Specialist Freeborn has announced the appointment of Saska Gerasimova as the new group leader. Gerasimova succeeded Eric Erbacher, the philippines’ chief of staff, effective October 20, 2025.

The change in leadership marks a significant milestone in FreeBorn’s continued evolution, reflecting its focus on strategic clarity, customer experience and continued global growth. Gerasimova brings to the role a broad spectrum of experience across aviation leasing, air cargo, logistics and fleet management.

Prior to joining FreeBorn, he held roles as Senior Senior Supply Chain Manager at Amazon Air Europe and previously held roles as Fleet Director and Leasing Manager at SmartWings Group. A deep understanding of operations and customer-centric strategy will be key in strengthening Chapman Freeborn’s global footprint.

I regularly visit local operations regularly and have a deep understanding of local operations.”

As part of the transition, Eric Erbacher has been at the helm for more than five years, from Group CEO Chepman Freevn Holdings to Chairman of the Board of Directors. During his tenure, Erbacher led the company through a phase of expansion and diversification.

“In my new role, I expect to have a greater capacity to focus on customer engagement, close wraps and drive our long-term strategy,” he said. “I look forward to welcoming Saska to FreeBorn and working closely together to strengthen our global operations.”

Supporting the leadership team, COO Bernardo Nunes will take over the legal direction of legal direction within FreeBorn’s affiliates to ensure a seamless transition. In the meantime, Russi Batliwala will continue as a member of the Board of Directors, offering valuable leadership and continuity.

This leadership evolution positions Chapman Freeborn for agility, customer focus and innovation, the next phase of global aviation.
