China Eastern Airlines has announced the resumption of direct flights between Shanghai and Delhi starting November 9, 2025. The airline will operate three weekly flights on Saturdays, Saturdays and Sundays on the vital air bridge between Asia’s most important economic and cultural hubs.

Delhi-Shanghai Flight (MU564) will depart Shanghai at 7:55 AM for Indira Gandhi International Airport at 5:105 PM. Shanghai-Delhi Flight (MU563) will depart from Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 5:45 a.m. to Delhi at 12:50 p.m. local time. Tickets for the route are now open for sale on all booking platforms.

The Shanghai-Delhi route is strategically important as one of the primary air corridors between India and China, facilitating business, tourism and bilateral trade. The resumption of this route, the full resumption of China Eastern Airlines’ network in India, underscored confidence in travel demand between the two nations.

Interglobe Airlines (IGAT) continues to act as the exclusive general sales agent (GSA) for China Eastern Airlines in India, making the airline the first Chinese carrier to operate direct flights between India and China. IGAT provides end-to-end sales, marketing, ticketing and operational support, leveraging its strong understanding of the Indian travel market to drive route performance and customer engagement.

For the new service, China Eastern Airlines will deploy the Airbus A330-200 AIRBUS AR330-200, known for its long-haul efficiency and superior passenger comfort. The aircraft features the airline’s advanced in-flight Wi-Fi system, allowing travelers to stay connected throughout the journey.

Through the Shanghai Pudong Hub, passengers will have access to one-way connections to global destinations in Mainland China and North America, Japan, South Korea and Europe. This renewed route is expected to increase tourism, business travel and cultural exchange between India and China, as China strengthens its East Asian presence in South Asia.
